Incorporated in 1983, the city of San Ramon is located in the San Ramon Valley in Contra Costa County - approximately 35 miles east of San Francisco in the San Francisco Bay Area. Bishop Park covers the vast majority of "Central San Ramon", which is the large square formed by Freeway 680 on the west, Crow Canyon Road on the north, Iron Horse Trail on the east, and Bollinger Canyon Road on the south.

San Ramon Schools & Education
The highly-acclaimed San Ramon Valley Unified School District encompasses the communities of Alamo, Blackhawk, Danville, Diablo, and San Ramon as well as a small portion of Walnut Creek and Pleasanton. The district is comprised of 35 schools serving more than 32,000 students in Transitional Kindergarten through Grade 12. The district ranks 8th among all unified school districts in California, and 3rd in northern California.
